From the Artist:
I took up photography while attending the University of the Fraser Valley as part of my undergraduate bachelor’s degree – forming the majority of a Fine Arts minor. Although I learned and studied on black and white film in the darkroom this was right at the time where digital cameras were becoming mainstream (and affordable for the average joe). So I enrolled in the first digital photography class the university ever offered, purchased a giant Nikon DSLR, pirated Photoshop, and got to making images.
In August 2010 I moved to the Fernwood neighborhood of Victoria, started a family with my wife shortly thereafter, and tried to maintain keeping up with photography along with work and life. As the kids get older the chance for free time grows and it was time to fall back into the world of photography. After purchasing a Fujifilm XT4, and dusting off my old Nikon F80 35mm film camera, I started learning again (this time from Youtube) and creating images while travelling around Vancouver Island with my family and the rest of BC with work.
I currently reside in Brentwood Bay and try to equally split my photography, these days, between digital and film.
