We're pleased to report that as a result of several recent fundraising activities and the generous support of our BBVE community, we raised approximately $8,000!

A portion of these funds went to the Red Cross Cuba Humanitarian Crisis Appeal. The bulk of the proceeds went to a grassroots effort locally organized by Cuban-born musician Adonis Puentes and Canadian born Cuban, Jordan Weaver. Their connections allowed us to channel funds directly to Cuban families in need to spend at state-run "dollar" stores which sell foods, sanitary supplies and household goods which are virtually impossible for average Cubans to buy. In these stores, $50 will buy food and supplies to sustain a Cuban family for a month.
