The very name “Pesto" means “to pound, to crush”, which describes the sauce’s crushed basil, garlic, pinenuts, olive oil and cheese. Italissima pesto sauce is a popular condiment for sandwiches (we use it in our paninis), and can be mixed with other ingredients to make various spreads. Pesto sauce is used in a variety of pasta sauces or alone for pasta dishes, as well as a garnish or a spread on crostini. Try pesto sauce with linguine or fettuccine pasta and some Emborg Grana Padano parmigiano sprinkled on top!
